Chadds Ford, PA — In late 2020, FMFCU Foundation launched its Food Insecurity Fund to support local food banks. In just a few months, this popular campaign raised $12,000 to help provide food to those in need. Many of these organizations were severely impacted by the pandemic, as they faced increased demand for support.
As a thank you gift, for every $10 donation, donors received a youth-sized Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy Program Cub Account face mask from Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.
The following organizations are beneficiaries:
- Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, Prospect Park
- Bernardine Center, Chester
- St. Vincent DePaul — BVM Food Cupboard, Darby and Holy Cross Food Pantry, Springfield
- Philabundance, Philadelphia
- Chester County Food Bank, Exton
“We would like to thank and recognize food bank staff and volunteers for their work in fighting food insecurity,” said Rick Durante, Executive Director FMFCU Foundation. “We also thank Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union members for their generous support of the fund, which will allow food banks to continue to purchase food and other necessities.”
