Greenlight FAQs

  • IS GREENLIGHT SAFE?

    Greenlight debit cards are FDIC-insured up to $250,000 and come with Mastercard’s Zero Liability Protection. Greenlight blocks ‘unsafe’ spending categories, sends real-time transaction notifications, lets parents turn cards off at any time, and gives parents flexible ATM and spending controls.

  • CAN FRIENDS AND FAMILY SEND MY KIDS MONEY?

    Kids can receive money from friends and family — with parent approval on every payment. In the app, your kids have their own pay link they can share with trusted friends and family to receive money for babysitting, IOUs, birthdays, you name it.

  • IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE?

    We support kids and grownups of all ages. No minimum (or maximum) age here!

  • IS THE APP FOR BOTH KIDS AND PARENTS?

    Kids and parents log in to the same Greenlight but have two different experiences. Parents can send funds, send flexible controls, and more. Kids learn how to manage their own money while staying safe and connected to the family.

  • HOW MANY CHILDREN CAN BE ADDED TO A PARENT/GUARDIAN ACCOUNT?

    Parents or Guardians can add up to five children to the account, each with their own debit card and app access.

  • HOW MANY PARENTS/GUARDIANS CAN BE ON AN ACCOUNT?

    Each Greenlight account can have two parents or guardians. The primary account owner has the option to add a secondary owner by request.

  • WHAT IF I ALREADY USE GREENLIGHT?

    If you are an FMFCU member, existing Greenlight customers can take advantage of this savings! Simply link your Greenlight account with an FMFCU checking or savings account. Then, contact Greenlight directly to complete the switch:

     

    • Call 888-483-2645
    • Fill out an email form on the Greenlight website
    • Connect through the chat bot in the Greenlight app

+Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union members are eligible for the Greenlight SELECT plan at no cost when they connect their FMFCU account as the Greenlight funding source for the entirety of the promotion. Subject to minimum balance requirements and identity verification. Upgrades will result in additional fees. Upon termination of promotion, members will be responsible for associated monthly fees. Account holders may also choose to upgrade to one of Greenlight’s Partner premium plans: Infinity Select or Family Shield Select.
