FMFCU Foundation announced seven recipients of the 2023 Nonprofit Community Grant for a total of $7,000. Each of the seven grantees will receive a $1,000 grant intended to fund programs or projects that deliver measurable, sustainable improvements in the communities we serve. With programs ranging from a childhood bereavement garden to literacy testing materials, approximately 2,000 people will be impacted.
2023 Grantees are:
- Chester Community Improvement Project (Chester, PA) will host pre-housing credit classes
- Peter’s Place (Radnor, PA) will create a childhood bereavement garden
- Rebel Ventures (Philadelphia, PA) will create healthy delicious meals with kids in schools and the community
- Purple House Project PA Inc. (Collingdale, PA) will distribute transportation gift cards for women in need
- Literacy Delaware (Wilmington, DE) will purchase literacy testing materials
- Howard J. Weston Community & Senior Center, Inc. (New Castle, DE) will buy materials to build a shed for gardening activities for seniors
- Calculators Count (Penn Valley, PA) will enhance the STEM education f underserved, marginalized students in Philadelphia by providing them with tools and resources
Since the inception of the Community Nonprofit Grant in 2019, the FMFCU Foundation has distributed over $25,000 to local nonprofit organizations in the community.
