Community Involvement
FMFCU and our employees believe it’s important to reach out and support the communities we serve. Annually, we donate significant time, resources, and funds to help various charities, educational and community outreach programs throughout the Delaware Valley. Learn more.
Excellence in Teaching Award Program
Teachers in the Delaware Valley region can be nominated to receive a $1,000 grant towards educational expenses plus an additional $1,000 for their school. Each year, we recognize 20 teachers and distribute $40,000. Learn more or nominate a teacher here.
Grants
Through annual grant programs, FMFCU Foundation extends funding to projects that strengthen nonprofit organizations, implement innovative classroom projects, cover field trip cost and ultimately make our community a better place. Learn more about our grant opportunities here.

Delco Hi-Q
Consistent with its mission to advance education, FMFCU Foundation is committed to managing Delco Hi-Q, the country’s oldest, continuous high school academic quiz competition.

Scholarships and Awards
Each year, FMFCU Foundation awards scholarships through multiple programs.
- John D. Unangst Memorial Scholarship: Four $4,000 scholarships each year to support qualified tuition expenses for students, based on an essay application.
- Bridge to Success Scholarship: One $4,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from the Chester-Upland School District to support post-secondary expenses, based on an essay application.
- Delaware County Community College Scholarship: Two $4,000 scholarships to full-time students at Delaware County Community College, based on financial need.
- Delco Hi-Q Scholarship: One $4,000 scholarship is awarded to one student from the Delco Hi-Q academic quiz competition to further their education.
