Ukrainian War Donation Scams
Be on the lookout for:
- Suspicious emails or text messages for donations through cryptocurrency.
- Non-legitimate charity websites.
- People pretending to be Ukrainian women.
How to protect yourself:
- Research Online Wallets.
- Do not click on solicitation pop-ups via social media.
- Research the charity organization before donating.
P2P/Zelle Scams
Be on the lookout for:
- Suspicious text alerts claiming to be from your credit union verifying a large Zelle transaction amount.
- Follow up calls from your “credit union” ensuring money is recoverable.
- Being tricked into providing personal information.
How to protect yourself:
- Do not click on any links that come in emails or text messages.
- Call your credit union to verify legitimacy.
- Report unknown payments to P2P provider.
