- Friday, Feb. 13 – Account Transition letters and BFCU Member Merger Guide booklet mailed to all BFCU members. View the Interactive Merger Guide here.
- Tuesday, Feb. 17 (Approx.) – New debit cards are being mailed out. A reminder email will be sent to those email addresses on file. DON’T ACTIVTATE THEM UNTIL MARCH 2ND.
- Thursday, Feb. 26
10:00 AM – Cashier checks, credit card payments, external transfers, and Bill Pay within Online/Mobile Banking are unavailable.
2:00 PM – Remote Check Deposit is disabled. - Friday, Feb. 27
3:00 PM – All BFCU branches close for business. BFCU ATMs are unavailable.
5:00 PM – Online/Mobile Banking is unavailable. - Saturday, Feb. 28
2:00 PM – Debit cards are unavailable. Online/Mobile Banking continues to be unavailable. BFCU website will be redirected to fmfcu.org

- March 3 thru March 20 – All BFCU members who have used a check in 2024 or 2025 will receive new FMFCU checks. They will be mailed out shortly after the merger and available for use immediately.

ACCOUNT-RELATED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Will my member number change? What if I am a joint member?
In most cases, primary BFCU members will have their oldest account number converted into an FMFCU member number. Joint members, who don’t have a BFCU member number, will be assigned a unique member number to access accounts. All member numbers will be included in the letter with merger guide mailed mid-February.What if I am currently a member of both BFCU and FMFCU?
Once merger is completed, your BFCU accounts will be consolidated under your current FMFCU membership. During our final testing and transition, members may see their BFCU accounts in Q2. They have zero balance and transactions are not available on these until the merger is complete. A message should appear when logging into Digital Banking. If it doesn’t appear, please still make a note of this.Will I need a new debit card?
Yes, FMFCU debit cards will be replacing all BFCU ATM and debit cards. New cards will be mailed out mid- February, and available for use on March 2. More information to be provided here later and you will receive a separate mailing and instructions with your card(s).Will I receive new FMFCU checks?
Yes, all BFCU members who have used a check in 2024 or 2025 will receive new FMFCU checks. They will be mailed out shortly after the merger and available for use immediately. BFCU checks will be honored post-merger for approximately six months. We recommend starting to use your new checks and shredding all remaining BFCU checks.What about ordering cashiers checks in Online or Mobile Banking?
FMFCU does not support cashiers checks in Digital Banking. You may register and use Zelle as an alternative. -
BRANCH & SERVICE QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Will my local branch stay open?
Phoenixville branch will remain open! However, due to overlapping branch markets, the BFCU branches in West Chester and Westtown will close. Alternative branches are West Chester (nearly across from the old one), Paoli and Newtown Square.Will I have access to more branches, shared branches or ATMs?
Absolutely! FMFCU has 18 branches, many featuring Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs), ATMs, free coin counters and financial services. Co-Op ATMs and shared branch locations are also available across the country. Details and hours are located here: fmfcu.org/branches -
CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS (BFCU) AND INFO
What happens to BFCU VISA credit cards? How can BFCU members make my BFCU credit card payments?
VISA credit cards will remain the same until April 2027. Effective March 2, 2026, BFCU Credit Card payments may be made using one of the following methods:- BFCU Cards App
- FMFCU’s Digital Banking will have a link under the MENU or bookmark this URL in your browser or device
- Mail Payment – must be mailed to address listed on your Credit Card statement (please do not mail Credit Card payments to FMFCU or BFCU Branches)
- Pay by Phone – call 1-866-820-5870 to make a payment by phone ($5 convenience fee applies)
What happens if their BFCU credit card is lost?
Report a lost, stolen, or defrauded credit card via the BFCU Cards App or call 866-820-5836.Will they need a new credit card? Does FMFCU offer a Visa® credit card?
No, members can keep their BFCU credit card. However, recommend that FMFCU offers Visa credit cards with rewards options through our partner, Elan Financial Services. For more information or to apply online, visit fmfcu.org/creditcards. -
DIGITAL BANKING QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Does FMFCU have a mobile app?
Absolutely. Our highly rated app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play.Will I need to re-enroll in Digital Banking? If I am a joint member, is this necessary?
Yes, all primary and joint members will need to enroll in FMFCU’s free Digital Banking or downloading our Mobile Banking App. For complete information on Digital Banking including video tutorials, our digital banking guide.Tip: Due to account consolidation, you will now see all of your associated accounts in Digital Banking. Organize them by renaming or hiding them.
Is re-registering for Bill Pay, Remote Deposit Capture and Online Statements necessary?
Yes, you will need to enroll in these services within Digital Banking. For added convenience, we recommend saving your current payees from BFCU before February 26 so you can refer to your list when entering them in Bill Pay.Will access to prior year statements and account history after conversion be available?
While past account history will not be visible in Digital Banking, you can view up to 6 months of statement information upon enrolling in Online Statements. -

When will the merger take place?
Migration of BFCU member accounts is expected to commence Feb. 28, 2026. We’ll let you know when the merger is complete via email and right here on this page.What happens to BFCU employees?
Most will transition to become FMFCU employees with certain exceptions.Will there be any downtime during the merger weekend and what services are affected?
Yes, the majority of downtime is from Feb. 27 at 5:00 PM through Mar. 2 when Online/Mobile Banking and debit cards are unavailable. Complete details are:- Feb. 26 at 10:00 AM, cashier checks, credit card payments, external transfers, and Bill Pay within Online/Mobile Banking are unavailable. At 2:00 PM – Remote Check Deposit is disabled.
- Feb. 27 at 3:00 PM, all BFCU branches CLOSE and BFCU ATMs are unavailable. At 5:00 PM, Online/Mobile Banking is unavailable.
- Feb. 28 at 2:00 PM, debit cards are unavailable.

Register for FMFCU Digital Banking, Online Statements, Bill Pay and Remote Check Deposit. Activate Debits Cards (if applicable). FMFCU branches are open and account access is available.
What first steps should you take after the merger is complete?
We recommend registering for FMFCU’s Digital Banking on or after March 2, using our mobile app or at fmfcu.org. Once you’re logged in, register for:- Online Statements and Bill Pay
- Security Alerts
- AnytimeDeposit (remote check deposit) on your mobile device

Will the interest rate, terms and payment amount on my loan(s) change?
Your loan’s interest rate, terms and conditions and payment amount will remain the same with the exception of home equity and personal lines of credit. Those will be due on the 25th of every month.Can I prepay my loan?
Members can prepay installment loans up to 2 prepayments.HOME LOANS Q&A
Can I still write HELOC checks post-merger?
No, FMFCU does not support check writing on HELOCs. However, outstanding checks written on Benchmark FCU HELOCs will be honored for the six months post merger.VEHICLE Q&A
Where should I send my vehicle, motorcycle, RV, homeowners, and flood insurance?
All insurance should be mailed to FMFCU P.O. Box 3126 Carmel, IN 46082. It can also be uploaded at www.myinsuranceinfo.com. Members should have the clauses on their policies updated to FMFCU P.O. Box 3126 Carmel, IN 46082.What should I do if I receive my vehicle title?
Call 610-325-5100 and ask for Loan Servicing. We will make arrangements with members for next steps.How do I add FMFCU as the lienholder on my vehicle loan?
Please advise the dealer or previous financial institution to add FMFCU as lienholder. Use 5 Hillman Drive, Suite 100, Chadds Ford, PA 19317 as the address. Our ELT lien code for PA is 23138230601 and for NJ is 369573338193170.When I got my vehicle, I purchased a mechanical repair warranty. Is that still in force?
Yes, your coverage is still with Route 66. We recommend using their app for help and claims. -
INSURANCE PRODUCTS & NCUA INSURANCE COVERAGE INFORMATION
Will there be any impact for those members who are enrolled in the TruStage AD&D insurance at Benchmark?
All existing Benchmark’s policies will transition under FMFCU with no impact to rates. Members do not need to take any action and will receive updated policy documents sometime after the merger is completed.Will NCUA insurance coverage change?
Your deposits are federally insured by the NCUA for $250,000 per depositor, per ownership category. If your combined balances exceed these limits, a six-month grace period ensures uninterrupted coverage while you review and adjust your accounts. FMFCU staff are available to review ways to maximize your protection.The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) provides all members of federally insured credit unions with $250,000 in coverage for their single ownership accounts. Additional coverage is available for joint accounts and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). For a complete explanation, read the NCUA publication on how your accounts are federally insured.
