Q. When did you begin your career at FMFCU?
a. In 2005, as a high school intern at the first student-operated branch. It was my job to process transactions and help with student memberships. After that, I was hired as a branch teller and worked my way up to manager of the Kennett Square branch. I worked there until transitioning to my current position in 2018.
Q. What does your job entail?
a. Reviewing business loan requests, and when an application is a good fit, preparing documentation for underwriters. I work closely with Business Relationship Managers who handle the day-to-day contact with borrowers.
Q. What do you enjoy the most about being a Commercial Lending Analyst?
a. Every situation is different, and I like the analysis involved. I also get to help people, which is nice. Having a background in member service, it’s hard not to notice ways in which FMFCU can help applicants. For example, if a potential borrower hasn’t refinanced since the subprime mortgage crisis, I like to point out if they qualify for a lower interest rate.
Q. What do you like about FMFCU?
a. The culture here is all about the “Fish Philosophy,” meaning comradery and teamwork. I think FMFCU does a good job hiring those who fit the culture. It’s not hard to smile here. I also appreciate the Volunteer Time Off day employees get to spend helping at a non-profit. It’s good for morale and it helps the community; it’s a win/win.
