Creating A Business

Designed for grades four through five, this lesson indtroduces students to entrepreneurialism. Children learn how to Save, Share, Spend, and Earn money by creating a business they could start as fourth and fifth graders. Students work in groups brainstorming how to start and advertise their business, as well as how to spend earnings.

PA Standard:

• 6.2: Markets and Economic Systems — Standard 6.2.5.A: Describe how goods and services are distributed, 6.2.5.B: Identify how pricing influences sellers and consumers, 6.2.5.C: Explain how advertising causes people to change their behavior in predictable ways.

• 13.1.3.F: Explore how people prepare for careers. 13.4.3.A: Define entrepreneurship, 13.3.3.D: Explain how money is used.
