A TAX ON CREDIT UNIONS IS A TAX ON YOU
Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union wants to keep members informed about an important issue that could impact the financial benefits you receive with your membership.
Credit unions like FMFCU are not-for-profit financial cooperatives, which means earnings are returned to members through lower loan rates, higher savings dividends, fewer fees, and community support. However, there are discussions in Congress about applying new taxes to credit unions that could affect these benefits.
Adding a tax to not-for-profit credit unions would reduce the advantages members enjoy and limit our ability to serve you affordably. FMFCU believes credit union members should not be taxed simply for choosing a financial institution that prioritizes people over profits.
You are encouraged to contact your U.S. Representative and Senators through the fast and easy-to-use form provided here and ask them to support credit unions and the benefits provided to members. You may also visit DontTaxMyCreditUnion.org for more information, and to fill out the form on their website as well.
