December 20, 2000 - FRANKLIN MINT FEDERAL CREDIT UNION ANNOUNCES BRANCH OF THE YEAR

Broomall, PA - Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU) recently named its Swarthmore College branch the FMFCU Branch of the Year. The award was presented at the company's Annual In-Service day.

The Branch of the Year award, which began in 1988, is based on outstanding member service and performance. “Once again our Swarthmore office has demonstrated the power of team work,” said Cindy Wanamaker, Senior Vice President of Retail Services. “In spite of staffing changes, limited space and facility changes throughout the year, our staff at Swarthmore, led by Dot Brooks, came out ahead in achieving branch goals while going the extra mile in serving their membership.” This is the second time the Swarthmore branch has received this award in three years.

The Swarthmore College Branch, which opened in January of 1992, was FMFCU's seventh branch. This special recognition honors the combined efforts of the entire Swarthmore staff. Branch Manager, Dot Brooks who returned to the branch in October of 1999, has put together a team that continually provides each member with the speed, service and convenience they deserve. “I was shocked to have received this award,” said Dot. “I could not have done it without all the help from everyone who had come to Swarthmore to help out. I would like to thank the members for their continuous support.”

FMFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, democratically owned and operated by its members. Its philosophy is to provide low-cost financial services to members while promoting good money management through regular savings and wise use of credit. Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, with over $205 million in assets, serves over 42,000 members.

“Joanne is truly a team player,” said Cindy Wanamaker, Senior Vice President of Retail Services. “As Branch Services Manager, Joanne juggles numerous tasks every day but never loses sight of the member or the credit union staff she services everyday.”

Joanne joined the Credit Union in January of 1994. Since then she has worked as a Member Service Representative, a Branch Manager at our Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital Branch and for the last three years as the Branch Services Manager. Joanne was given this award because of her dedication and efficiency. As part of the Employee of the Year award FMFCU donates $500.00 to the recipient's favorite charity.
