Unangst ScholarshipThe Credit Union will award four $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors who will be attending a full-time course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university, trade or business school. This year (2008), we have increased the award from three to four recipients in honor of our Chairperson Mary O. Kennedy's 30th anniversary with the Credit Union. Applicants, or a member of their immediate family, must be a member of FMFCU. ELIGIBILITYYou or any member of your immediate family, must be a member of the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union. (Employees/Directors of Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, their affiliates and their immediate families are not eligible.) REQUIREMENTSApplicants must submit the following:
Your Name, school or school district, must not appear anywhere on or in the body of the essay. PROCESSAs each essay is received, the application containing the student information will be coded and separated from the essay. A corresponding code will be placed on the essay and given to a committee for judging. The committee is comprised of representatives from the field of education. Essays will be scored based on the following categories:
All applications must be received or postmarked by Monday, March 3, 2008. Application and More InformationPartners in Learning® AwardBasis of Award: A student, who is a member of Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, pursuing business studies in a post-secondary institution and exhibits above average academic achievement and service to school and/or community. This award is offered to seniors attending high schools in FMFCU’s field of membership. Amount of Award: $250 Background: Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union’s Partners in Learning® education program provides hands on financial and business education to partnering schools through in-school seminars, on site student-operated branches, co-operative education, and job shadowing. In recognition of these partnerships, this scholarship award is presented to one graduating senior in each of FMFCU’s partner high schools. Eligible schools:
