Getting Ready to Retire/Apply for Federal Benefits?

Be ready to sign up for direct deposit of your federal benefit payments

As of May 1, 2011, you will need to receive your payments electronically – paper checks will no longer be an option. When you apply for federal benefits, be ready to sign up for direct deposit of your federal benefit payments.

With direct deposit, your money will go straight into your FMFCU checking or savings account on payment day each month. You can count on your money being on time, every time.

Be prepared. Before you fill out an application for Social Security or other federal benefits, have the right information in front of you to sign up for direct deposit. You’ll ensure a smooth enrollment process and start enjoying the safety and ease of direct deposit from your very first payment.

How to set up Direct Deposit

1. Get a Direct Deposit Form from your organization. Then provide all of the information listed in steps 2 - 5.

2. FMFCU Routing & Transit Number: 231382306

3a. To deposit into checking account:

Enter your checking account number with a '0' (zero) added before it.

Note: Your checking account number is different from your member number. The checking account number can be found on your checks as shown below:

3b. To deposit into savings account:

Enter your member number followed by a '-' (dash) and two '0' (zeros) for your primary savings account. If you have a Start Smart primary savings account, enter your member number followed by '005'.

4. Provide FMFCU's name and address given below:
